Studio Dragon strictly adheres to the ‘Broadcasting Review Regulations’ to protect audience rights and is advancing content development that reflects social values, including human rights, animal welfare, and child and youth protection. The IP Commerce Team's review personnel examine review issues on an ongoing basis and discuss major industry sanction cases and advertising review trends to safeguard audience rights. Beyond regulatory compliance, Studio Dragon works to ensure that creators recognize the impact their content has on audiences and society, while strengthening proactive risk management through a self-regulatory review system.
The content industry faces risks across multiple dimensions, including IP protection of creative works, quality management in the production pipeline, protection of creator rights, and the social impact of content. Failure to comply with copyright laws, regulations, and industry standards, or the occurrence of piracy domestically and internationally, can result in copyright disputes, fines and sanctions, and litigation costs. These issues can also constrain contracts with global platforms and content distribution. Additionally, inadequate quality management during content production can create financial burdens through legal liability, damages, and sanctions, and may require additional monitoring costs to strengthen content verification and management systems. When fairness is not ensured in the use of third-party IP and contract execution, creator rights may be infringed, which can lead to diminished stakeholder trust and reputational risk. Furthermore, if socially harmful content—such as violence, hate speech, and discrimination—is not appropriately managed, it can cause psychological and social harm to audiences or lead to the spread of inappropriate information, creating potential for increased social criticism and regulatory enforcement.
Conversely, expanding stories and casting that reflect diversity and inclusion in content production can increase audience resonance across diverse cultures and strengthen content competitiveness in the global marketplace. Additionally, producing content that reflects racial, gender, and socioeconomic diversity can expand opportunities for collaboration with global platforms and production partners and increase the potential for entry into new markets. Content that embraces inclusion and equity can also contribute to creating social value, enhancing brand trust, and strengthening the company’s competitiveness as a responsible content producer.

The importance of DE&I in the media and content industry is increasingly evident not only in the final creative outputs but also in the production pipeline. Studio Dragon is committed to creating content that reflects the diversity issues that merit attention in Korean society, and participates in producing works discovered through ‘O'PEN’, a development program operated by CJ ENM for the next generation of writers. The name O'PEN reflects its mission of providing aspiring writers, or ‘Pen’, with an ‘Open’ creative space and ‘Opportunities’ to grow. The program selects emerging writers annually through competitions and provides mentoring, creative grants, and writing facilities.
Studio Dragon oversees production of the ‘O'PENing’ series—works selected through the O'PEN program—supporting the next generation of writers in bringing their work to life as content for market release. In 2025, the company produced six O'PENing scripted series, expanding debut opportunities for emerging writers.

Studio Dragon promotes the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) through its content. By presenting the stories of characters from diverse backgrounds and identities in a balanced manner, the company contributes to fostering a culture that understands and respects societal differences. Studio Dragon discovers stories of various underrepresented groups and portrays them as empowered, proactive characters, thereby delivering balanced narratives. Moving forward, Studio Dragon remains committed to embedding the values of diversity and inclusion across the entire content development and production pipeline to build a sustainable content ecosystem.
Pro Bono (2025, tvN) | Centering on marginalized individuals who lack access to legal services, this series embraced a perspective of inclusivity for various minority groups. It delicately highlighted the systemic barriers and societal prejudices that social minorities—such as children with disabilities and immigrant women—encounter in their daily lives. Furthermore, by integrating the relatively nascent social issue of animal rights into its narrative framework, the series posed profound questions to the audience regarding the rights of those left unprotected.
Our Unwritten Seoul (2025, tvN) | Through the narratives of characters with distinct emotional wounds and diverse life backgrounds, this series embedded the core values of diversity and inclusion. It delicately portrayed the reality and inner anxieties of youth navigating the pressures of societal expectations, thereby contributing to fostering a broader societal consensus rooted in mutual understanding and respect for individuals as they are.
Genie, Make a Wish (2025, Netflix) | This series explored psychological diversity and the complexity of human nature through a psychopathic protagonist, while embracing the diversity of sexual orientation by naturally weaving the narrative arcs of an LGBTQ+ supporting character into the plot. By portraying characters with specific identities as three-dimensional, layered individuals with unique emotions and relationships—rather than confining them to the periphery of the narrative—the series expanded the possibilities of inclusive storytelling.

Studio Dragon operates an internal risk management process to manage societal controversies and reputational risks that may arise during the content production pipeline. From the development stage to final broadcast, the company proactively monitors potential vulnerabilities through various internal review procedures. In the event of a potential public escalation of a negative issue, the matter is immediately reported to the internal risk standing council to activate an immediate response mechanism. Through these systemic controls, the company manages content-related risks and fosters a responsible content production environment.

Safeguarding Third-Party IP and Studio Dragon's Original Works
Studio Dragon operates a pre-review and contract-based management system to protect creators' rights and prevent intellectual property risks when utilizing third-party IP. Prior to content development, relevant departments consult with original creators and their representatives, execute contracts governing the use of scripts and source materials, and then apply these to content production. Additionally, through its internal review organization, the G.L.C., the company conducts pre-review procedures to assess the existence of similar works and evaluate IP-related risks, thereby minimizing the possibility of copyright disputes. Through these efforts, Studio Dragon respects creators' rights and fosters a fair content production environment.
Furthermore, Studio Dragon operates a systematic response framework to protect the rights of its original IP and minimize damage from piracy. In particular, in collaboration with CJ ENM, the company monitors IP infringement cases that may occur on online and global platforms, and continuously responds to piracy and copyright infringement. Led by its internal legal team, Studio Dragon reviews and implements active legal measures against copyright infringement cases, thereby protecting its original IP and contributing to the development of a healthy distribution environment in the content industry.
Operating Content Review Guidelines
Studio Dragon complies with applicable laws and industry guidelines when implementing product placement (PPL) and sponsorship disclosure. From the content development stage forward, the company considers advertising's social impact and its production responsibility. Through its internal review guidelines, Studio Dragon conducts advance assessments of advertising appropriateness and exposure methods across the production pipeline, and the company evaluates the impact on the audiences' experience from multiple angles. This approach extends beyond regulatory compliance and reflects Studio Dragon’s commitment to maintaining a balanced viewing environment across its content portfolio. Going forward, Studio Dragon will continue to proactively identify and manage the various risk factors that may emerge across all stages of content distribution, while strengthening its culture of responsible production.

Preventing Audience Rights Infringement Risks
To minimize audience rights infringement risks, Studio Dragon operates a script review panel composed of employees, as well as the G.L.C., a programming council in which the CEO participates. Together, these bodies identify and manage potential infringements of audience rights across the entire pipeline from content development through airing. Studio Dragon also conducts rigorous review of product placement exposure and other advertising practices through its internal advertising review process.

Studio Dragon systematically manages metrics for promoting DE&I through content, including the number of series produced based on DE&I, the cultural resonance of DE&I-based scripted series, and the number of series written by the next generation of writers. The company defines DE&I-based series as productions that address diversity issues of international significance—including gender representation (LGBTQ+ inclusion, women's solidarity, etc.), social justice (social polarization, school violence, etc.), and intergenerational integration—as well as those that convey the messages of inclusion for domestic minorities.
As societal interest in DE&I has grown, content addressing diverse social issues has expanded, and the scope of series classified as DE&I-based has naturally broadened. Studio Dragon is committed to steadily increasing the production of DE&I-based series and continuing to advance social empathy and inclusion through content. Additionally, through O'PEN, a support program for the next generation of writers, the company develops new voices and perspectives each year and will track the number of series written by the next generation of writers as a key metric.
